The different watch movements
But which ones to choose?
The mechanism of a watch impacts the way it works...
The Quartz watch
It is a small battery that provides electrical energy that vibrates the quartz which sends regular electrical impulses capable of rotating the hands. Efficient and very precise, the Quartz watch. The only downside, a shorter lifespan due to the wear of its electronic components.
The mechanical watch
There are two types of mechanical watches: manual winding and automatic.
In this case, the energy does not come from the battery but from a movement. The mechanical watch with manual winding for example is to be wound by hand by turning the crown.
Regarding the automatic winding watch, it winds itself thanks to the movement of the wrist. You will feel the mechanism in action if you pay attention!
Its advantages: it lasts longer than a quartz watch since there is no battery to change.
Its disadvantages: Quite fragile, they must be checked every 4 to 5 years, and can be a few minutes ahead or behind over the years.

The hybrid watch

In addition, it has all types of features such as being informed in case of incoming messages with the hands vibrating or being specially set to a number if you have set it.
Also, thanks to the small dial, you can see the number of steps you take in a day. Finally, a hybrid watch is the result of a mixture of a smartwatch and a watch with a rather classic design. They often have a traditional elegant look with a very smart interior!
